Biography
While Wobbuffet is technically Jessie's Pokémon, it has been around so long that it has become a main character, appearing in almost every episode of the series since it debut.

Wobbuffet rarely battles but when he does, his Counter and Mirror Coat moves have proved to be very effective. Unfortunately, Jessie's tactics aren't always sufficient to master Wobbuffet's superior defensive skills.

Wobbuffet also randomly comes out of his Pokeball, especially during the Team Rocket motto. He is also seen blasting off with Jessie regardless if he was actually part of the action.

Trade meet in Leaf Town

Wobbuffet was first seen walking around with Benny, his previous trainer. While looking for trade partners, Ash Ketchum called Benny's Wobbuffet "the greatest Sonansu in the world!" and a really obedient and nice Pokémon. Ash Ketchum and his friends managed to convince an Odoshishi Trainer but just as they were about to trade, the Odoshishi Trainer decided that he wanted a flying Pokémon instead. Jessie landed near the official trade station after James and the Magikarp Salesman came running through. Benny wanted to trade his Wobbuffet for a stronger Pokémon but Jessie accidentally traded her Lickitung for Benny's Wobbuffet after her Poké ball fell out of her pocket and onto the machine and she picked up the wrong Poké ball.

In the Top 16 round of the Alola League, Wobbuffet faced off against James's Mareanie. The match was planned to be setup for Jessie to win but half way through the match, Mareanie decided that it wanted to battle for real and it fired up James and they were able to defeat Wobbuffet's defense to advance to the next round.
Known Moveset
Move
Counter Type
First Seen: GS 30
Chikorita's Vine Whip ended up hitting itself and Takeshi stated that it's Counter is incredibly powerful.
Bide Type
First Seen: GS 51
"Gaman" is the original name for the move Bide, which Sonansu can't learn, though it's also the name of its species. The animation does look like the move. It only used this move in this episode and never again.
Mirror Coat Type
First Seen: GS 58
Already knew the move before this episode as its based on game moveset. Musashi just didn't know Sonansu knew the move.
