After watching an interview with a person rescued by the Dragon Pokémon "Kairyu" on the news, Satoshi and Go get really interested in Kairyu. And when Professor Sakuragi tells them that there's rumored to be an "island where only the Dragon Pokémon Kairyu live", they immediately decide to go search for it. They head out to sea riding on Go's newly caught Pokémon Jugon, but run into a sudden storm on the way. The two get swept away by the waves and wash ashore on an island, where they're met by...

Note

English-based dubs remove the Japanese text that says: Float Whale Pokémon (うきくじらポケモン ) and Whaloh (ホエルオー). The Korean and Thai dubs replace it with their own text.

Scene Cut

The originally aired English dub episode aired on June 12th, 2021, around the time that the George Floyd protest in Grand Army Plaza took place. The original lines said by both Ash and Professor Cerise were replaced in reairings of the episode because they quoted the "I can't breathe" slogan associate with the Black Lives Matter movement in the United States.
