Summary
It's nighttime now near the ocean. Team Rocket is busy fixing their sub. James starts to complain, and Jessie tells him to think positively. Meowth is very happy because he's going to have clams for dinner. James starts to shake Meowth, telling him to learn Pay Day. Because Meowth has put in so much energy to talk, he cannot learn Pay Day. Meowth says that James has some coins. Jessie shakes him until a bottle cap falls out. James quickly grabs the bottle cap. He wouldn't be able to live without his precious bottle cap. Jessie sees Ash and co. swimming by.

Ash and co. are looking for a place to stay. Tracey doesn't see any islands anywhere. A strange light is headed their way. The light turns out to be Team Rocket. They start to recite their motto. Then they notice that their sub is sinking. Ash sends out Squirtle. Squirtle uses Water Gun which blasts Team Rocket off again. Meowth still remains, and it comes face to face with Squirtle. Squirtle uses Water Gun on Meowth, and Meowth blasts off again. Meowth flies right past Jessie and James.

Meanwhile, there's a party at an island. A big Meowth statue is shown, and the man begins to talk. They are doing some sort of ritual with awakening Meowth. Meowth falls from the sky and onto the island. A group of people shines a flashlight on Meowth, and they take him away. Meowth is brought back at the party. The people are bowing down to Meowth. They are surprised to hear that Meowth can talk. The leader talks to the old man. The old man tells him that this is the Meowth that they are looking for. Meowth thinks that something bad will happen to him. The people calls Meowth, "Meowth Of Bounty." They are bowing down to him.

The next day, Meowth starts to eat the food that was presented to him. The leader runs up to Meowth, asking him the reason of why he is displeased. Meowth wants one hundred meatballs. The people brings the meatballs to Meowth, and he eats them all. Then Meowth claps his hands, and the leader immediately shows up. Meowth says that he wants some entertainment. The dancers shows up, and they start to dance. The dancers walks up to Meowth, and they kiss him. Hearts comes out of Meowth's eyes. Later on, he plays his guitar, but he still wishes that he can share his happiness with someone. Then Meowth sees Ash and co. riding to the island. He has a vision of how they will ruin him.

Meowth runs over to the leader. He tells them that three people and a Pikachu are very dangerous. The old man tells the leader that they should get rid of them. The leader agrees, and the Meowth Of Bounty guard is let out. The guard is the Meowth statue. The people inside the statue are operating it. The Meowth statue approaches Ash and co. The statue attacks them, but Ash and co. dodge the attack. Pikachu tries a Thunderbolt, but the attack has no effect on the statue. The statue chases them off a cliff. Ash and co. realize that they are not wanted on the island.

The men reports to Meowth that the intruders are gone, however they caught Jessie and James on the shore. Meowth says that he has never seen them before. He orders the people to get rid of Jessie and James. The leader tells the statue to throw them into the sea. Meowth knows that Jessie and James will ruin the happiness he has on the island.

Jessie and James goes back to the island, but they are disguised as a bush. James thinks that Meowth has found his true happiness. Seconds later, the leader tells Meowth that it is time to perform the Bounty Ceremony. The old man tells Meowth that he is suppose to use Pay Day to bring wealth on the island. Unfortunately, Meowth can't use Pay Day. Meowth tries to escape, but the statue grabs onto him and begins to shake him. Meowth admits that he cannot use Pay Day. The leader gets mad at the old man. The old man tells the leader that Meowth just hasn't use Pay Day in a very long time. He adds in that Meowth just needs some battling experience. Meowth is brought to the stadium.

Meowth is thrown in the stadium. Jessie and James are dressed in costumes as they sit to watch Meowth battle. A Nidoking comes running out, and it chases Meowth around the stadium. Meowth is tired out. The leader tells the men to search the stage for coins. The old man assumes that Meowth just needs more experience. An Onix comes out. It slams Meowth to the ground with its tail. Onix squeezes Meowth with a Bind. Jessie and James still knows that Meowth is their friend, and that they have to help it. They recall back some memories with Meowth. Suddenly, some coins fall out onto the ground. Everyone thinks that Meowth has used Pay Day, and they rush over to pick up the coins. Jessie and James then leaves the area.

Meowth still doesn't understand how he could've produced a lot of money. The old man pours the money into a golden cup. The leader asks Meowth to stay with them. Meowth spots James's bottle cap at the top. He realizes that Jessie and James threw the coins to help him. Meowth begins to cry, and he runs away. Meowth looks around for his friends, but he can't find them. Meowth wants to tell them of how sorry he is and hopes that they will forgive him. The old man pleads that Meowth will rule their island. Meowth tells them that he doesn't bring happiness. He goes on and says that only two people in the world cared about him. Meowth thought that he was happy without them, but realizes now that they make him happy. Jessie and James steps out, and they say a few words. Meowth asks if they are mad at him. Jessie says it doesn't matter because he is their friend. He jumps into the sub, and they take off.

Ash and co. are still clueless of why the Meowth statue chased them away. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is fishing in the ocean. James wishes that Meowth could use Pay Day. The only way they think will work is battle experience. Meowth yells as they take out their Pokémon.
