Summary
Ash has earn two badges now and now he is ready to get his third. Ash and co. has finally arrived at the Mauville Gym. Everyone cheers Ash on and they say that he can do it. Ash opens the door. The door falls over and Ash walks on a piece of wood. Then Brock, May, and Max walk on the wood too. Suddenly, the wood jerks fowards. They continue to ride on the tracks. Just like a roller coaster, they start to go up all the way to the top. They fall down and everyone hangs on for their life. Wattson is watching them through a camera. He just laughs at them. Wattson's assistant, Watt, comes in. Wattson tells him that it's a joke and that it's fun to watch them.

Now Ash and the others are surfing on the water. Watt thinks that Wattson is going too far but Wattson tells him to be quiet and that they are getting towards the best part. Now Ash and the others have crossed to the end of the water. Their ride starts to go smoother now. A door opens and a Raikou pops out. Raikou uses Thundershock at them but they dodge the attack. Ash tells Pikachu to use Thunderbolt. Pikachu zaps Raikou and then it uses Iron Tail. Electricity starts to come out of the Raikou and onto Pikachu. Then Raikou blows up and its head falls off. It seems that the Raikou was only a mechanical one.

Wattson comes out from the doors and he tells them that they did a fantastic job. Wattson introduces himself and Watt to the group. Ash introduces himself and he tells Wattson that he wants a battle so that he can win his third badge.

At another part of an island, Team Rocket is looking at a power plant. Jessie and James wants to make the power plant a base for Team Rocket. They open the doors to the plant and they see Voltorb, Magnemite, and Magneton in it. Team Rocket quickly closes the doors. They decide to just walk away. Meowth tells them to come back. He tells Jessie and James that they can give the Pokémon to the boss and still build the base. Meowth imagines one of his Giovanni fantasies. At the end, they cheer.

The battle between Ash and Wattson is about to start. Watt is the judge and he tells them that it will be a 3-on-3 Pokémon battle. Wattson tells Ash the Pokémon that he will use and Max concludes that this is an electric type Pokémon gym. Brock wonders why Wattson has revealed what Pokémon he is using. Pikachu jumps into the battlefield and Ash chooses him for the battle. Wattson chooses Magnemite and he tells it to use Swift. Pikachu dodges the attack and uses Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt is so powerful that it knocks Magnemite out in one hit. Watt is shocked about Wattson's lost but he declares that Pikachu wins the first round. Brock, May, and Max are also surprised that Pikachu won.

Wattson's next Pokémon is Voltorb and he tells it to use Screech. Pikachu uses another Thunderbolt and it burns Voltorb to a crisp. Watt declares Pikachu the winner of the second round. Wattson chooses Magneton next and he tells it to use Shock Wave. Pikachu uses a Thunder which destroys the attack and Magneton. Watt declares Ash the winner of the battle. Wattson congratulates Ash and he gives him the Dynamo Badge. Wattson then sadly walks away. Ash notices that Pikachu is burning up and rushes him to the Pokémon Center.

Wattson drops his Pokémon off to Nurse Joy and walks away. Then Ash and co. runs in with Pikachu and Nurse Joy asks Ash what is wrong with it. Wattson sits by the river wondering what happened in his last battle. Suddenly, an Electrike tugs on Wattson's shirt. Wattson pets the Electrike and hands it some food. Electrike happily eats the food. Back at the Pokémon Center, Pikachu has a machine hooked up to it. Sparks are coming out of its cheeks. Nurse Joy asks if Pikachu has been exposed to any high voltage and Ash remembers that it happened with the Raikou. Pikachu suddenly gets better and jumps into Ash's arms. Suddenly, Watt comes in and he tells Nurse Joy that Wattson is abandoning the gym. Nurse Joy tells them that Wattson might be at the power plant and they all decide to head there.

Wattson continues to pet the Electrike. Wattson asks Electrike if it knows any electric attacks. Electrike uses Thunder Wave but it doesn't go completely through. Suddenly, Wattson hears a noise and he sees a vehicle with a long hose approaching the power plant. Team Rocket is in the vehicle. They open the door and start to suck in all the Pokémon in the power plant into cages. The Pokémon try to use their electric attacks but they don't work. Wattson comes to Team Rocket and he orders them to stop. Team Rocket says their motto. At the end of their motto, Ash and co. catches up to Wattson. Watt pleads for Wattson to come back to the gym but Wattson doesn't want to. Then Team Rocket sucks up Pikachu and Electrike. Team Rocket lastly puts a net over Ash and co. and then they drive away. Ash breaks free from the net and Wattson tells him that he has an idea.

Team Rocket cheers for their success. A Raikou begins to walk towards them. Ash and co. approaches Team Rocket as well. Brock sends out his Forretress to use Rapid Spin, and May sends out her Torchic to use Ember. The attacks start to ram their vehicle. Raikou roars at them, and Team Rocket starts to get scared. Then Pikachu starts to use Iron Tail on the cage and Electrike uses Bite on the cage as well. Jessie sends out her Seviper to use Poison Tail and James sends out his Cacnea to use Pin Missile. Cacnea hugs James. Seviper uses Poison Tail and the Raikou falls apart.

Suddenly, Pikachu and Electrike break the cage, and all the electric Pokémon run out of it. Jessie gets mad and tells Seviper to use Poison Tail on Pikachu but Pikachu dodges the attack. Cacnea uses Pin Missile, but Pikachu dodges that attack too. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt on Seviper and Cacnea and then it uses Quick Attack on them. Jessie sends out her Dustox and it uses Whirlwind to blow Pikachu away. Dustox uses Psybeam but Electrike counters with Thunder Wave. Pikachu uses one last Thunderbolt on Dustox and Team Rocket and they blast off.

Ash tells Wattson that the battle wasn't fair and Watt explains what happened. Wattson decides to let Ash keep the badge because he saw how well Pikachu rescued the Pokémon. Wattson decides to be the gym leader and he tells them that he will train his Electrike. Wattson offers Ash another battle once Electrike gets stronger and Ash agrees. Everyone has a good laugh at Ash continues his journey.

English Official Summary

Ash and company are finally at the Mauville Gym. They have an electrifying introduction to Wattson, the Gym's leader, who specializes in Electric-type Pokémon. They discover that he seems to enjoy being a bit of a trickster. Upon entering the gym, they are sent through a type of electric slide/roller coaster ending in a mechanical Raikou, which Pikachu tries to attack. Elsewhere, Team Rocket is exploring the possibility of capturing a large array of Electric-type Pokémon they just found. Wattson decides on a three-on-three match. He uses his Magnemite, but Pikachu knocks it out in one hit. Next he sends in Voltorb, which Pikachu also KO's in one hit. Finally, Wattson sends in Magneton, which also falls to Pikachu. Everyone is shocked and amazed, but Wattson recovers and hands Ash the Dynamo Badge. Ash then rushes his Pikachu to the Pokémon Center to recover. There he finds out that it is overloaded with electricity; probably from the Raikou incident. Wattson decides to go to the mountainside to mull over his loss for a bit when he encounters Team Rocket stealing the Electric-type Pokémon. Ash and company arrive and they all help Wattson recover the Pokémon from Team Rocket before sending them blasting off again. Ash tries to give the Dynamo Badge back to Wattson because Pikachu won due to its being overcharged. Wattson tells him to keep it, though, because Ash deserves it.
