English Official Summary

Ash and the gang are on their way to Lily Of The Valley Island and the Sinnoh League via ferry when they meet a treasure hunter named Buck, along with his Baltoy. Armed with a pirate map—and Baltoy’s knack for finding hidden treasure—Buck is trying to track down a magnificent fortune. Buck asks Ash and the rest of our heroes if they will come along to help, and they excitedly agree. Buck’s map guides the treasure hunters to Dandelion Island, where they soon discover that the mysterious pictures of Pokémon on the map were actually a warning about all the Pokémon guarding the treasure! The Pokémon put up a mighty struggle, and at the same time Team Rocket, armed with a copy of the same map, are on their way to get the treasure first. Fortunately, our heroes’ superior skills defeat the guardian Pokémon and send Team Rocket blasting off again. When Buck, Ash, and the crew finally find the ruins where the treasure is located, they discover a powerful Claydol protecting it. Buck’s Baltoy is too fast for the larger Pokémon, and Buck manages to catch Claydol for his own! When the treasure is discovered, our heroes are dismayed to find that it’s just some old pots instead of gold and silver. But Buck explains joyfully that he wants to become an archeology professor when he grows up, and this is exactly what he hoped the treasure would be! And so, thanking our heroes for all their help, Buck heads off on another treasure hunt. Ash and friends resume their journey toward the Sinnoh League!

Finnish Official Summary

Sankareidemme jatkaessa matkaansa Lily Of The Valley -saarella pidettävään Sinnoh-liigaan he tapaavat aarteenmetsästäjä Buckin ja hänen Baltoynsa. Apunaan merirosvojen kartta ja Baltoyn kyky löytää piilotettuja aarteita. Buck on matkalla etsimään aarretta, jonka uskoo olevan aivan ihmeellinen, ja pyytää sankareiltamme apua, mihin he suostuvatkin oitis.

Script Error

In the Japanese original, Satoshi repeats the word "treasure" back to Baku and the disguised Rocket Gang gets interested after hearing the word "treasure". The English dub, forgoes Ash's question about the treasure which also lowers the chance of Team Rocket overhearing their conversation.

English Dub:
Buck: See, my Baltoy has the unique talent of finding hidden treasure.
Ash: That's awesome.

Japanese:
Baku: This guy's special skill is to find treasures.
Satoshi: Treasures?
02:42

Script Error

Buck in the English dub completely contradicts himself by saying he "accidentally" found a sunken shipwreck when in fact he was purposely out there looking for it. He even states that he and his Baltoy were purposely looking for it during his recollection of the event.

Buck: This whole treasure-hunting thing all began way back when I accidentally discovered a sunken shipwreck.
Baku: This treasure hunt began when I discovered a sunken ship.
05:35

Scene Cut

The English dub removed one of Dawn's lines. No actual video footage was removed though. The line should have been said after she says: "Wow, a real treasure."

Japanese Original:
Hikari: Sounds kind of romantic.
09:45

Script Error

Just after Rocket Gang get's blown up by the Pokémon in the forest, Kojiro explains to Musashi that the Pokémon in the forest are 'traps'. Musashi didn't understand what he meant by 'traps' as it is an English word. James in the English dub calls the explosions that the Pokémon caused 'evil protectorate pleasure' inferring that the Pokémon have an alterior motive of causing bodily harm rather than protecting the treasure as a 'trap'.

Character English Translation Japanese
Jessie That was their loving guidance to the treasure? Weren't they supposed to lead us to the treasure?!
James No, that was evil protectorate pleasure. No, those are traps...

Later on, Rocket Gang comes in contact with the Kusaihana and Rafflesia and Musashi calls the Pokémon traps 'trumps (トランプ)' as she didn't understand Kojiro initially and she thought he was talking about playing cards the whole time. Kojiro tries to explain it to her but is intrupted. Nyarth understood what Kojiro initially said though as he calls the Pokémon traps In the English dub, Meowth brings up the 'evil-protectorate' Pokémon situation again and like Musashi in the Japanese version, Jessie still doesn't understand what James was talking about with the 'evil-protectorate' persona. James just responds by suggesting that he will have to say what he originally said a second time, hoping that she would get it then.

Character English Translation Japanese
Meowth Are we heading into more evil-protectorate stuff? Are these guys part of those traps as well?
Jessie I didn't get the meaning of that the first time around. Geez, what are these trumps you've been talking about the whole time?!
James Well, second time's the charm. No, traps are...

12:30

Script Error

In the Japanese original, Musashi surprisingly asks Nyarth if he is asking God for help choosing the right direction to go in the cave after he recites the lyrics to the song どれにしようか"dore ni shiyou ka na?". Nyarth then climbs up a rock and realizes that its Iwark-sama (イワーク様), calling it that as a throwback to "God" (kami-sama 神様) from the lyrics of the song.

The English dub kept the "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe." like part but removed the God reference and they end up insulting each other instead.

Character English Translation Japanese
Meowth Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe. Catch a twerpie by the toe. Which-one-of-these-should-I-pick-nya?
Jessie Dumb luck? Asking God for help?
James The master speaks. This is no good...
Mewoth Hey. You need to loosen up. What are you talking about?
Meowth All good things come to those dudes who chill out. In difficult situations, you need to try anything.
Rockets (Screaming) Oh snap!
Meowth Your concept of chilling out's a little too hot for me. Don't "oh snap" me. You two should hurry up...
Meowth Yipes! Onix, what big beady eyes you have! What?! I-If this isn't Iwark-sama...

14:34

Script Error

Kojiro states in the Japanese original that they need the treasure to finance their endeavors. James in the English version tells the twerps that they are basically taking the treasure instead.

James: Fools. Team Rocket makes the treasure rules.
Kojiro: We know. But we're also in need for funds financing our activities.

This episode was okay but nothing really happened. As TSS_Killer said, it seemed similar in nature to the Mystery Dungeon 3 special plus the amount of movie 9 music made is seem similar to that movie a bit.

I was more interested in the preview at the end of the episode than the actual episode itself.
