Note

According to The Big Hit Podcast S4E3 Satanic Consumption hosted by Alex Pappademas, which was released on August 24th, 2022, former 4Kids exec Norman J. Grossfeld said that a studio that was going to distribute the first movie wanted Leonardo DiCaprio to play Ash.

"He said, 'Hey, we really want this. We can make this work. We're going to bring in Leonardo DiCaprio to play the voice of Ash. It's going to get a lot of buzz, we're going to have a lot, and we'll get all these celebrities. It's going to be really big'."

Production Art

A cell with the production art from the scene where Satoshi throws the monster ball was available for purchase via an auction sale in Japan.

The background used in the colored photos of the cell is not from the scene and was used by the seller to showcase the cell for the auction as it was painted on transparent film and didn't include a background plate from the original scene.

It's a shame that the dub cut all the entire Birth of Mewtwo scene from the beginning of the movie. I really enjoyed that build up as it give the movie a bit more depth and history. I remember seeing this movie in the theater and how epic the battle between Mew and Mewtwo was. It's a great move all round.

Ah. However, I refuse to use särskrivning (that word doesn't exist in English dictionaries, it simply says "writing two words"), which is one of the most horrible ways to rape a scandinavian word. Now it says "Pokémonfilmen". I hope that's accurate.
