Summary
Ash and co. are still walking in the forest towards Rustboro City. They are really close to the city now, and Ash can't wait for his gym battle. A Wurmple comes out. It appears just a few inches away from May's face. May screams. Ash, Brock, and Max turn around. May points to the Wurmple. Ash looks up Wurmple in his Pokédex. Max knows that Wurmple can evolve into a Beautifly. After seeing Janet's Beautifly, May wants to capture the Wurmple. She runs after it.

It seems that Wurmple has disappeared. Brock is surprised that May wants to capture a bug Pokémon. May tells Brock that she wants a Beautifly just like Janet. Brock suggests they take a lunch break. May decides to skip lunch and catch Wurmple. She disappears in the forest. Ash hopes that May will be alright by herself. Brock says that it is a good experience for her anyways.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket has been watching from the bushes. Jessie also wants a Wurmple of her own, so that it can evolve into a Beautifly. Then she can win contests. Meowth thinks they should capture a whole sleuth of Wurmple and give them to the boss.

May continues to search for Wurmple. She comes across a group of dancing Bellossom. Team Rocket is also searching for Wurmple. James checks the tree for any Pokémon that might be inside it. Jessie kicks the tree hard and a Weedle falls out. She kicks the tree again, and a Kakuna falls out. Jessie begins to kick the tree again over and over. James and Meowth think for a bit. Weedle evolve into Kakuna, and Kakuna evolve into Beedrill! A swarm of Beedrill appears to attack Team Rocket. May continues to watch the Bellossom dance. Suddenly, Team Rocket begins to approach May. They tell her to run for her life. Team Rocket pasts May. May looks behind her, and she sees the Beedrill. May runs too. Just before, they are all attacked, they fall down a hill.

Team Rocket stands and they begin to say their motto. Before they can finish the motto, May sees Wurmple, and she runs after it. Team Rocket runs after the Wurmple too. Both May and Jessie want to catch the Wurmple. They use their Pokémon to fight for it. May sends out Torchic, and Jessie sends out Seviper. James also sends out Cacnea. Both Pokémon are about to knock out Torchic when a Heracross comes out of nowhere and attacks Seviper and Cacnea. A boy comes out. He tells Team Rocket that battling with two Pokémon isn't fair. Jessie and James ignore the boy. Seviper and Cacnea attacks Heracross, however Heracross counters with Fury Attack. Seviper and Cacnea slam into Team Rocket, and they all blast off into the sky.

May thanks the boy for his help. She then realizes that Wurmple is missing again. The boy, who is named Franklin, decides to help May capture Wurmple. Meanwhile, Brock is preparing lunch, Ash decides to train Pikachu more. Pikachu runs towards a tree, jumps up, and uses Iron Tail. Just before Pikachu can strike the tree, its tail stops glowing. Ash congratulates for doing a good job. He then tells Pikachu to use Iron Tail again. Again, the attack doesn't work. A boy walks up to Ash and offers Ash a battle. This same boy looks exactly like the one May saw, and his name is also Franklin.

Franklin and May are climbing a cliff. Franklin tells May that he is a ranger of the area, so he knows his way around pretty well. May accidently trips, but Franklin catches her just in time. The other Franklin explains to Ash that they are going to have a double battle. Double battles are where you use two Pokémon to battle your opponent instead of one, and they are common all over Hoenn. Ash agrees to the double battle.

Brock is the judge for the battle. Franklin sends out Ariados and Yanma, and Ash chooses Pikachu and Treecko. The battle begins. Ariados uses String Shot and Yanma uses Sonicboom. The String Shot attaches to Pikachu's foot. Treecko pulls Pikachu away before the Sonicboom can hit Pikachu. Then Ariados uses Night Shade and Yanma uses Swift. Pikachu and Treecko continue to dodge the attacks. Ash orders Treecko to use Quick Attack. Treecko runs towards Ariados and Yanma. Ariados and Yanma redirect their attacks to Treecko. Treecko dodges the attacks. Pikachu comes in and uses Iron Tail. This time the attack works, and Yanma receives plenty of damage. Pikachu uses Iron Tail again, but the attack fails. Because of the failing attack, Ariados is able to hit Pikachu with String Shot. Treecko then uses Pound on Ariados. Both of Franklin's Pokémon are knocked out, and Ash wins the battle. Franklin thanks Ash for a great battle. Brock offers Franklin over for lunch. Franklin happily accepts Brock's offer.

Meanwhile, the other Franklin and May are busy looking for Wurmple. May found two berries, and she gives one to Franklin. The both of them begin to talk to each other. Franklin notices how independent and strong May is at life. Suddenly, Frankliin points to a Wurmple. May is happy. She sends out Torchic to battle the Wurmple. Torchic uses Tackle, and then May throws her Pokéball. Unfortunately, the Wurmple manages to break free from the Pokéball. Franklin reminds May that Wurmple are weak to fire attacks. May tells Torchic to use Ember. The fiery sparks hit Wurmple and weakens it even more. May throws her Pokéball. Wurmple is caught! May is happy that she finally caught a Wurmple.

Suddenly, a mechanical arm reaches down and snatches May's Pokéball. The mechanical arm came from Team Rocket. They say their motto. Then they begin to float away in their balloon. Franklin sends out Heracross. Heracross uses Horn Attack on the balloon. The balloon breaks, and it begins to fall down. The Pokéball flies out of Jessie's hands, and May catches it just before it falls on the ground. Team Rocket recovers from their fall. Jessie sends out Seviper and James sends out Cacnea. Torchic tries hitting the Pokémon with Ember, but its attack misses. Cacnea fires a Pin Missile at Torchic. The attack damages Torchic a bit. Then Seviper uses Poison Tail, but before Seviper's attack can knock out Torchic, Heracross uses its strength to catches Seviper's tail. Franklin tells May to have Torchic and Wurmple attack at the same time. May sends out Wurmple, but she doesn't know what attacks Wurmple can use. Franklin tells May that Wurmple can use String Shot. Wurmple uses String Shot on Seviper and Cacnea. Team Rocket's Pokémon are now powerless. Heracross finishes the battle off with Megahorn. Team Rocket blasts off again.

May and Franklin run back to Ash and co. To their surprise both Franklins look exactly alike. In fact, they are both identical brothers. One brother is named Forest Franklin while the other is Forester Franklin. Now that everything is settled, Brock suggests they have lunch. May sends out Torchic and Wurmple to join everyone. Wurmple eyes all the food. It quickly eats everything, and then it falls asleep.

Team Rocket is hanging from a branch. They are all blaming each other for getting themselves into this mess. They soon see a Wurmple on the branch too. Jessie throws a Pokéball at Wurmple and captures it. Wobbuffet then pops out. The branch can't support all of them, so it splits apart. Team Rocket falls into a deep hole.

Summary:
Satoshi and his friends are going through a deep forest in order to get to their first destination, Kanazumi City. All of a sudden the 'Worm Pokémon' Kemusso appears before them. Haruka completely lost herself to the beauty of the 'Butterfly Pokémon' Agehunt from the Pokémon Contest and immediately tries to get the Kemusso so she can evolve it into one! But as she chases after the Kemusso, she leaves the others behind and heads deep into the forest all on her own......
