Summary
The announcer introduced the show by saying: "Pokémon Battle will never be the same. You'll see it right here on Pokémon Smash! Here we go!". The episode started with the crew all having presents in their hand as Golgo and Shoko-tan show up. Hana then explains that in America, October 16th is Boss' Day, a day for employees to thank their boss for being kind and fair throughout the year. Golgo seems happy as he closes his eyes and waits for them to give him all the presents. While his eyes are closed they all give the presents to Shoko-tan instead of him. Golgo is surprised they gave her the presents and he reminds them that he's the boss of Pokémon Enterprise. They all insist Shoko-tan is the boss which gets Golgo mad at them.

Baba introduced this weeks rerun episode as part of the Pokémon Library and he also announces this weeks theme, Don't forget the basics! (初心をわすれないように!). This weeks Pokémon Library rerun episode was Back to Basics for the Rocket Gang!? (原点回帰だロケット団!?) from the Diamond and Pearl series. A full summary of that episode is available in the episode guide. Professor Red said his go-to line 'OK! Pokémon Library!' to start the repeat episode.

After the Pokémon Library episode, Golgo wanted to get the Smash crew doing things they normally wouldn't do. Golgo pointed out that school teaches you that you "You can do it if you try" (「やればできる」が学校の目標!). Golgo then said this segment of the show was to challenge the members to do what they're bad at because: "You can do it if you try" (「やればできる」メンバーが苦手なことに挑戦!).

First Golgo got Professor Red to 'Don't bomb telling a joke'(スベらない). He then sings 'Muri! Safari Park!' (ムリ!サファリパーク!) which initially didn't get any reaction from the crew. Yamamoto was next and he gave him a bowl of Ikasumi (イカスミ) and told him to "eat the delicious bowl of iced Ikasumi" (イカスミかき氷をおいしく食べる!). He obviously doesn't like eating it as he has been forced to eat it multiple times on the show. Golgo then got Shoko-tan to 'Dance to the rhythm' (リズムにのってダンス!) which she did to the song Can You Say the Pokémon? BW (ポケモン言えるかな?BW ) quite poorly but got everyone to laugh.

The cast then made Golgo "Put his hands in the box to identify the object"(ビビリな所長に箱の中身を当ててもらう!). Golgo doesn't like to touch things he doesn't know what they are but he reluctantly did so. It was a figure of Golgo making a "Life" (命) pose. They then quickly introduced the Pokémon Quiz Caravan.

For this Pokémon Quiz Caravan, Red and Golgo visited Baba, Tokamachi, Niigata City Elementary School (新潟県十日町市立馬場小学校). The first segment of the quiz was the 'Black/White Quiz' (ブラックホワイトクイズ). The kids were separated into two teams and but instead of each person being given a paddle with black on one side and white on the other, the whole team had to decide on what the answer was and they had one big paddle instead. When questions were asked, they would raise the paddle with the side they thought was the answer. The teams were split into Team Pokabu and Team Zorua.

Team Pokabu won the quiz with 70 points while Team Zorua was only 10 behind at 60 points. In Mijumaru's Tweet Corner, a preview clip for the upcoming special ANA short airing of Pikachu's Really Mysterious Adventure (ピカチュウのふしぎなふしぎな大冒険) as well as a clip of some upcoming Best Wishes episodes.

The next section of the Caravan Quiz was the Dotekkotsu's Focus Blast Relay Quiz (ドテッコツのきあいだまリレークイズ). Players were split into teams of three and each of them had a steel I-bar that they had to hold up like Dotekkotsu. A ball would roll down through the I-bar and would be passed on to the next person. The person that passed it would then move to the end of the line until they reached the finish line. Before setting off, the players would have to count the number of specific Pokémon on a board which were mixed up with a lot of other Pokémon to make it harder. The first team to correctly tell the number of Pokémon on the board after successfully completing the ball relay without dropping the ball was declared the winner. Team Pokabu won and got 10 points.

The next portion of the quiz was the Victini's V-Generate Spot the Differences Obstacle Course Quiz (ビクティニのVジェネレート障害物まちがいさがしクイズ). Participants would wear a helmet with a V shaped container that had balls in them. They would have to go through the obstacle course while trying not to drop the balls. The first part of the obstacle course was a balance beam they had to walk across, second part was going through a few hulla-hoops, the third part was finding a candy ball in a flour pan, the fourth part was popping a ballon, the fifth part was picking up balls with tongs and the 6th part was group skipping. For each ball that they had left at the end of the obstacle course, the team would get 1 second on the clock.

The PokéSma Elite Four Makes their Appearance!

Baba was announced as the Dragon Type Elite Four Smash member, Shoko-tan was announced as the Dark Type Elite Four Smash member, Misaki was announced as the Fighting Type Elite Four Smash member and finally Yamamoto was announced as the Psychic Type Elite Four Smash member.

Yamamoto's Battle Dojo(山本バトル道場)

Realizing that it was a huge disappointment being eliminated in the first round of the 4th Smash Battle Tournament, Yamamoto opened a Battle Dojo tent for people to come and battle against him in a 4VS4 Pokémon Battle. Yamamoto got 21 straight victories.

The funniest part in this episode was watching Shoko-tan dance. She really was pretty bad at doing it. Was hard to tell if she was just doing it on purpose or really was that bad.

Will be interesting to see how the Pokemon Smash Elite Four turns out. I thought they chose the right people.
