English Official Summary

As the journey to Daybreak Town and Dawn’s next Pokémon Contest continues, our heroes are passing through the forest when they are suddenly attacked by a wild Magnezone! They later speak to Officer Jenny, who informs them that the wild Magnezone, as well as a wild Metagross, are attacking a nearby town, and no one seems to know why. Fearing for the town’s survival, Pikachu and Pachirisu start shooting Electric attacks into the sky in an attempt to lure the two wild Pokémon back up to the mountain. Later on, Ash and friends run into a patrolman named Crispin, who tells the group that the two wild Pokémon always battle in a basin in the mountain. They battle there in order to release the magnetic charges that the mountain produces from time to time, but the basin has mysteriously been flooded. As they figure out how to remedy the situation, Team Rocket decides to get the two wild Pokémon to join them ...with the help of some negotiating by Meowth. But their plan fails over and over, and they are sent blasting off again. With the help of Buizel and Happiny, the water in the basin is frozen and then lifted up and into a deep crevasse. The basin is ready for Magnezone and Metagross to battle happily once again!

Finnish Official Summary

Syvänne on kuitenkin joutunut jostain syystä veden valtaan.

Script Error

Brock's references for Officer Jenny are slightly different between the English and Japanese versions.

English Dub
Brock: You're eyes... gorgeous... like lipid pools of water from a babbling brook.
Brock: Let me draw closer so I can have a good look because when it comes to the beauty of Officer Jenny, I always get good and shook!

Japanese Version
Takeshi: I... I... don't know anyone else with eyes as beautiful as yours, Junsa-san.
Takeshi: They're as serene as the autumn sky and contain a hint of sorrow, as if a drop of sadness was dropped into them...
07:17

Paint Edit

This animation error is pretty obvious as there are two Pikachu's on screen. There were no other Pikachu's present in this episode. The group on the right also has their feet cropped off at the bottom near the sidewalk. Also, the error was not corrected in the original airing of the English dub which aired months after the Japanese version.
07:25

Paint Edit

Once again Brock's references for Officer Jenny are slightly different between the English and Japanese versions. In the Japanese version Takeshi suggests that he should catch Junsa in his arms just like how his Pinpuku just caught Metagross in its arms.

English Dub
Brock: It took care of Metagross but in a different way.
Brock: I could take care of you too Jenny and once you're in my arms you'll feel taken care of like never before!

Japanese Version
Takeshi: Junsa-san, just like this Pinpuku, I'm prepared to fully catch your heart!
Takeshi: Just leap into my chest, as if you want to board a big ship!
10:20

Culture Reference

Jessie's line was changed to be based off the "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" proverb in the English dub.

English Dub
Jessie: And twice we were tinkered with! Twice!
Jessie: One time, shame on you; but twice, shame on us.

Japanese Version
Musashi: Not to mention, it was a double hit! A double hit!
Musashi: The Rocket Gang won't just keep quiet after getting pummeled, I tell you!
21:05

Paint Edit

This animation error is found towards the end of the episode. When Ash lets Gible out of its Poké Ball, our heroes are still standing next to the mountain basin (21:05). However, seconds later, when Gible is seen firing Draco Meteor towards the sky, it appears that Ash and co. along with Crispin have teleported to Grandma Wilma's house! (21:12) In addition to that, Piplup is seen standing near the mountain basin in the next scene (21:16), which means that our heroes teleported back to the mountain within a few seconds... [Note: This error is also present in the English dub version of the episode.]

I was quite surprised that they gave such obvious foreshadowing and spoilers during the opening. It got me excited for the confirmation of both of Satoshi`s starter`s evolving to their final stage, which has never happened before, and it was completely unexpected for Hikari to get Togekiss, but still, I was surprised. Great opening. As for the episode, I found the pairing of Metagross and Jibacoil in battle to be interesting, based on them having so many similarities. They basically "destroyed" each other throughout the episode, with Metagross physcially throwing (with it`s arm, which it usually has to fold to levitate) into the ground. Fun episode.

Added an episode comparison I did for the Japanese and English Versions. Interesting how they didn't even bother fixing the double Pikachu's months after it aired in Japan.

Episode Location: A relatively big city on the way to Asatsuki Town.

Episode Highlights:
- On the way to Asatsuki Town, Satoshi, Hikari and Takeshi reach a relatively big city, which is being destroyed by the rampage of two wild Pokémon; a Jibacoil and a Metagross.
- Satoshi and his friends decide to use their Pokémon in order to stop the fight between these two wild Pokémon, but fail, as Jibacoil and Metagross turn out to be stronger than Moukazaru, Manmoo and Pinpuku.
- Takeshi comes up with a plan which involves using Pikachu's and Pachirisu's electric attacks to lure Jibacoil and Metagross out of the city and back to the mountains they live in.
- On their way to the mountains, though, they get ambushed by Rocket Gang. Takeshi then suggests that Nyarth talks to Jibacoil and Metagross in order to find out what the problem is. Nyarth agrees to, because as Musashi points out to him and Kojiro, this could be the perfect way to snatch both Jibacoil and Metagross and use them to their advantage. The plan fails though, as Nyarth is unable to understand what the wild Pokémon are saying, and Rocket Gang blasts off.
- Satoshi and the others, seeing as the alternative plan failed, go back to their first plan and continue to lead Jibacoil and Metagross back to the mountains.
- On the way there, they meet Katsuzo, a mountain guardian that patrols the mountains Jibacoil and Metagross live in.
- Katsuzo leads them to the mountain basin Jibacoil and Metagross used to battle in and our heroes assist him in ridding it of the water it had gathered, thus stopping the wild Pokémon's rampage.

Character Bios written:
- Katsuzo: Katsuzo is the mountain guardian that patrols the mountains Jibacoil and Metagross live in. Satoshi and co. along with the nearby city's Junsa met him while they were luring Jibacoil and Metagross away from the city and back to the mountains. Katsuzo told them that he had been looking everywhere for the wild Pokémon.

After leading Satoshi, Hikari, Takeshi and Junsa to the mountain basin where Jibacoil and Metagross engage in battles, he explained to them that there is magnetism everywhere in the mountains and that strange magnetic forces are often emitted. Whenever there's such an emission, the bodies of Jibacoil and Metagross fill with that magnetic force, and the two Pokémon fight each other in order to get rid of the excessive magnetism. After the basin got filled with water, though, the Steel-type Pokémon went missing and Katsuzo went to look for them. He was really shocked to hear that the two Pokémon had started rampaging in the city, and, in order to prevent that from happening again, he went to search for the reason behind the flooding of the basin, along with Satoshi, his friends and Junsa.

After a brief search, they found out that a rock had been blocking a nearby river's flow, thus acting as a dam and leading the water to the basin instead. In order to prevent more water from flowing to the basin, Katsuzo said that they had to remove the rock. Rocket Gang then showed up and tried to remove it using their balloon's enhancements, but their attempt failed. Eventually, the rock was broken into pieces by a powerful Brick Break attack coming from Takeshi's Gureggru, and the river flow returned to normal.

As the river flow had returned to normal, which would hinder more water from ending up at the Steel-type Pokémon's battling spot, the only thing that was left to do was to get rid of the water that was still in the basin. With the help of Hikari's Mimirol and Takeshi's Pinpuku, Katsuzo, Satoshi and his friends managed to return the place to its former condition, thus bringing the wild Pokémon's rampage to an end.
