Biography
Drake is the leader of the Orange Crew and accepts challenges from Pokémon trainers who manage to obtain four Gym Badges from the Gym Leaders on the Orange Islands.

Recently Drake was becoming bored on Pummelo Island as he had not battled a decent trainer in a long time and wondered whether anyone could actually beat him and his prized Pokémon, Dragonite.

Orange League Final:

Drake's next challenger would be Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town. The two trainers shook hands and listened to the referee's rules.

Just before the battle started the battle field changed into a rocky area with a pool in the middle and the referee went on to explain that once either trainer had three Pokémon eliminated then the field would change once more.

Orange League Final - Vs. Ash Ketchum (Rocky Field)

Drake selected the first Pokémon in the battle and selected Ditto who the commentator pointed out that many trainers had lost their cool against ditto as they got frustration seeing their own attacks being launch against them.

Ash responded by sending out Pikachu and Drake's first move was to have Ditto transform into Pikachu. Ash's first move was a Thunder attack but the transformed Ditto manage to shrug it off and launch a Thunder attack of its own that hit Ash's Pikachu. Both trainers then order their Pokémon to use a Thunderbolt attack that struck each other and the power caused the rocks they were standing on to collaspe. Drake's Ditto managed to land on its feet but Ash's Pikachu fell on the arena floor. Pikachu struggled to get and Misty wanted Ash to switch Pokémon, however, Ash refused to beleive that Ditto, who was copying Pikachu, could beat the original.

Ash stuck with Pikachu and Drake ordered his Ditto to use agility. Ash responded by having Pikachu use Thunderbolt but Ditto dodged it and launched a Thunderbolt attack of its own. Ash had Pikachu ground itself and took no damage from the attack, then, Pikachu used Agility to get close to Drake's Ditto who was also using Agility and both Pokémon used Thunderbolt and collided in mid-air. Pikachu was the first Pokémon to get to its feet and swiped at Ditto using its tail whilst charged with electricity, knocking Ditto to the floor and eliminating it from the battle giving Ash the initial advantage.

Drake selected Onix and Ash recalls an exhausted Pikachu to be replaced by Squirtle. Squirtle use Water Gun, but, before it can connect Drake has his onix use Dig and it goes underground. Squirtle headed towards the water pool in the middle of the arena but Onix emerged just before it reached it and then managed to trap Squirtle in Wrap.

Squirtle struggled to get free but the Wrap was too strong, however, Ash managed to get Squirtle to use Hydro Pump which managed to strike Onix and release Squirtle from the Wrap attack. Squirtle used Skull Bash on the Onix and eliminated Drake's second Pokémon in the battle.

Ash tells Tauros to begin with Fissure but Gengar jumps into the air and avoids the attack. Whilst in the air Gengar uses Confuse Ray which makes Tauros attack the nearby rock and damage itself in the process. Ash quickly recalls Tauros and sends out Lapras in the water pool in the middle of the stage.

Lapras goes underwater to dodge Gengar's initial attack and then resurfaced to shoot a water gun directly at Gengar who only manage to get out of the way after taking some damage. Gengar shoots Night Shade at Lapras who counter attacks with Ice Beam, the two attacks collide with each other and the resulting explosion eliminate both Pokémon which meant Drake has lost three Pokémon and Ash had only lost one.

With Drake losing his third Pokémon there was a short interval whilst the battle field change into a sandy field.

Orange League Final - Vs. Ash Ketchum (Sand Field)

The interval ended and Drake began by choosing Venusaur whilst Ash brought Tauros back into the battle who had now recovered from Gengar's Confuse Ray. Ash's first move was to have Tauros stamp its feet to use Fissure, however, the soft sand absorbed the move. Drake took advantage of the situation by having Venusaur use Solarbeam but knowing Solarbeam takes a while to charge up, Ash have Tauros charge straight towards Drake's Venusaur and flip it into the air just before it fired. Venusaur managed to adjust itself mid-air and fire the Solarbeam at Tauros. The impact was close to Tauros and knocked it down but it managed to recover and get back to its feet quickly.

Venusaur struck Tauros with one of its Vine Whip attacks but Tauros manage to avoid any further strikes and successfully land a Take Down move on Venusaur and eliminate it from the battle.

Electabuzz was Drake's fifth choice Pokémon in his winner's trophy battle against Ash. Electabuzz's first opponent was against Ash's Bulbasaur

Bulbasuar manage to shake of Electabuzz's initial Thundershock attack and returned a Razor Leaf attack which struck Electabuzz, although, whilst being hit by Razor Leaf, Electabuzz manage to use a Thunderbolt attack that Bulbasaur quickly dodged.

Bulbasaur uses Tackle and causes some light damage to Electabuzz but taking advantage of how close Bulbasur was, it manage to hit Bulbasaur with a Thunderpunch which eliminated it.

Ash chose Charizard to battle against Electabuzz and ordered it to use Flamethrower against Electabuzz, who quickly jumped into the air and landed a Thunderpunch onto Charizard and follwowed up by shocking Charizard with an electric attack. Charizard managed to release himself from the electricity by firing a Fire Spin and then Charizard flew towards Electabuzz quickly making sure it could not use it Thunderbolt attack. Charizard got a good grip on Electabuzz and flew into the air and used Seismic Toss on it which eliminated it and left Drake with one Pokémon left.

Drake's final Pokémon was his prized Dragonite who he sent out to battle Ash's Charizard. Charizard moved first by using a Flamethrower attack but Dragonite countered by using Water Gun which cuts through the Flamethrower and hits Charizard, who then takes to the skies whilst avoiding Dragonite's Ice Beam.

Dragonite then takes to the sky itself showing great speed as it does so. Dragonite and Charizard exchange Ice Beam and Flamethrower attacks respectively but it is Dragonite who manages to clip Charizard wing using Ice Beam which send Charizard spinning to the ground. Charizard recovers and flies close to Dragonite in an attempt to use a Seismic Toss attack, however, Dragonite avoids and gets a good grip on Charizard which gives it the opportunity to use a Slam attack.

Charizard gets up quick although it is clearly tired but it has enough stength to launch a Dragon Rage attack. Dragonite uses the same move, the attacks collide and both Pokémon are sent flying backwards. When the dust settles both Pokémon are standing but exhausted from the previous battle, after a few deep breaths Charizard falls to the ground and is eliminated.

Ash recalled Squirtle into battle for a second time and pitched it against Drake's Dragonite. Ash order Squirtle to use Hydro Pump against Dragonite but gets pushed back by Dragonite's Water Gun. Dragonite uses a Thunderbolt attack which Squirtle sees and withdraws into its shell and even though it took some damage, Squirlte continued to battle. Drake attempted to finish Squirtle by having it use Body Slam, however, Squrtle uses Bubble causing Dragonite's Body Slam to fail although it then uses Tail Whip and strikes Squirle which then eliminates it from the battle.

Tauros was switched in again after Ash recalled the eliminated Squirtle. Tauros charged into the middle of the field whilst Dragonite flew up and use Body Slam. To Drake's suprise Ash told Tauros to stand its ground and endure the hit, which it does so successfully and even manages to throw Dragonite to the floor using its horns.

Dragonite get up and uses Thunderbolt which proves too much for Tauros and eliminates it from the battle leaving Ash with one Pokémon left.

Ash was left with his Pikachu and sent it out against Dragonite that had already taken down three of his Pokémon in a row. Ash began by having Pikachu use Agility although Dragonite shown its speed also by striking Pikachu with its tail and sends Pikachu into the sand. Dragonite attempts to end the battle with a Hype Beam but at the last second Pikachu uses its tail as a spring and jumps to avoid the powerful attack. Dragonite was tired after using Hyper Beam and gave Pikachu the chance to land right on top of its head. Pikachu used a Thunder attack which could be seen from outside of the arena. Dragonite managed to shake Pikachu off and stay on its feet, but after a few deep breaths and fell to the arena floor from the sheer amount damage taken during the battle. Dragonite was eliminated and Ash won the battle and claimed the Winner's Trophy.

After Ash had won the battle against Drake he called out all of his Pokémon that participated in the battle on the stage as Drake presented him with the Winner's Trophy. Then Ash, Pikachu, Tauros, Lapras, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charizard all had their handprints set in stone to be remembered in the Orange Island Hall of Fame.
