Five years ago, when
Tommy/Tomo was three years old, he went with his family on a trip around the world. As they were flying a helicopter over the Safari Land,
Tommy's Father held
Tommy/Tomo out of the window to give him a closer view at the Pokémon below but
Tommy's Father ended up dropping him. Ever since,
Tommy/Tomo's parents had been searching for
Tommy/Tomo without luck, until someone sent them a photo of a boy resembling
Tommy/Tomo living with a herd of Kangaskhan in the Safari Land Pokémon reserve.
Tommy/Tomo was raised by a herd of Kangaskhan after his parents couldn't find him and he lived with them in Safari Land. He cannot speak too well as he didn't spend too much time around humans to learn the language but instead learned how to communicate with the Kangaskhan.
Tommy/Tomo's character is loosely based off the fictional character
Tarzan.
Ash Ketchum and his friends met
Tommy/Tomo when they were trying to help an injured Kangaskhan and
Tommy/Tomo came to its rescue thinking that it was being attacked by them.
Tommy/Tomo has a fascination with females breasts and not realizing that it is rude, he confronted
Misty when they first met and asked her to suck her breasts. He then took off to protect the Kangaskhan herd after they were attacked by Team Rocket. He uses a boomerang as his primary weapon of choice.
Tommy/Tomo registered in the safari address directory and his human parents traveled to the Safari Land to retrieve their son and enlisted the help of the ranger
Officer Jenny and
Ash Ketchum and his friends to help locate him. They soon discovered
Tommy/Tomo but he had already forgotten his birth parents. While
Tommy/Tomo eventually regained the memory if his parents, he was too connected to his adoptive Kangaskhan family to want to go home with them. His parents then decided to stay with their son in Safari Land with the Kangaskhan so they could be reunited as a family once more.
