Summary
The short starts off with Pikachu and Pochama sliding down the side of a large hill on some big leaves. The rest of Satoshi, Hikari and Takeshi's Pokémon are following close behind them. Manmoo who is bigger and heavier that all the other Pokémon, quickly picks up speed going down the hill and then hits the Pokémon and sends them flying into the air. They all safely land at the bottom of the hill near a playground.

While playing, Pikachu and Pochama find a striped ball to play with and it bounces down the rest of the hill. Pikachu chases after it until he and the ball land in the river at the bottom. A Wooper hit the ball causing Pikachu to fall off of it and go into the river. Pochama rescues Pikachu as they watch a group of Wooper play with the ball. A bunch of Quagsire show and and also play with it. The ball is then sent down the river as Pikachu and Pochama follow it into a nearby city.

The Beach ball gets caught under the wheels of a Lapras boat and is flung up into the air. Pikachu and Pochama decide to go up to the top floor of a building to see if they can find it. They spot it rolling down a roof and they jump after it. In midair, they hit a Jagged-eared Pichu and a Smoochum who were holding a pendant with 5 sparkling jewels on it. The jewels are sent flying in every direction.

The two argue for a bit as they are a bit angry. "Sparkling is gone! It was the present to give to Kireihana... Besides, today is her birthday!" the Smoochum tells Pikachu and Pochama. They show the room is all setup for the party but now they don't have a gift.

Pikachu and Pochama decide that they will help recover the missing jewels for the pendant but don't realize that Manene was nearby listening to what was going on. It returns back to Nyarth and explains the situation to him. Nyarth gets a bit angry when he is told that Pikachu and Pochama are looking for the missing pieces and vows to get them before they do.

To get a head start, Nyarth locks the gate to the staircase that allows people to get off the roof of the building. Only moments after beginning their search, Nyarth spots one of the jewels. Just as Nyarth manages to grab the jewel, Maril shows up amd begins to sing as the Rocket Gang Pokemon fall asleep. The jewel falls out of Nyarth's hand and rolls away.

Pikachu manages to find that same jewel down the alleyway after having been delayed on the rooftop by the locked gate. Rocket Gang wake up and Nyarth continue the search. Nyarth spots another one near a boat dock just as a Feraligatr comes out of the water. It sits on a bunch of tires just above the jewel. Nyarth decides to talk to it only to be blasted by water. He then decides a different tactic and attaches a bunch of banana's to a string. Not to be fooled, the Feraligatr outsmarts Nyarth, gets the bananas and then sends the Rocket Gang flying into the air.

Pikachu and friends show up at the dock and Pochama attempts to talk to Feraligatr. When that fails, it decides to attack it with Whirlpool only to be countered with a more powerful Hydro Pump. The Feraligatr jumps back into the river as Pikachu picks up the second missing jewel for the pendant. They continue their search for the remaining jewels. Pochama finds a bottle cap and thinks that its one of the missing jewels but is sad when it is told that it isn't one.

Recovering from their flight, the Rocket Gang Pokémon search around the park. Manene finds a large diamond ring but Nyarth throws it into the nearby pond stating that it isn't one of the jewels for the pendant. Realizing what he had just done, Nyarth quickly returns to the pond feeling ashamed.

On the top of a roof, Pikachu spots a shining glimmer. As the get up, a paw covers the banana shaped jewel as Nyarth picks it up. While holding it up in the air, a Murkrow flies by and steals it from Nyarth. Jagged-eared Pichu whistles as a pack of Drifloon show up. The all hitch a ride and follow Murkrow. Manene uses Teeter Dance which cause Pikachu and friends to have to land allowing the Rocket Gang to continue after the Murkrow. The Murkrow lands at the top of a building and Nyarth uses his claws to scare the Murkrow into dropping the jewel which Nyarth recovers.

Like most shorts, you have to take this as it is. It supposed to be fun and a different take on the anime from the normal episodes. As such, this is a fun episode to watch. It's not too complex as the characters spend most the time looking for the missing pendant jewels.

It's interesting to note that Jagged-eared Pichu is in this episode. Obviously this isn't the same one that Damos was friends with (unless it lives really long) and had forgotten Pikachu. This tends to prove the point that Jagged-eared Pichu's are a new forme of Pichu as there are probably more of them.
