Summary
The Pokémon Pinchers are up to no good in the Oblivia region, and it's up to Ranger Ben to investigate. In the episode, you'll see Ranger Ben get his first mission from Professor Hastings, then watch as Ben and Ukulele Pichu clash with Red Eye in an intense confrontation!

The anime short begins with Latios being chased in the sky by Pokémon Pinchers in the Oblivia (オブリビア) region. The episode features Pokémon Ranger Ben who was given a mission to protect the Latios. It quickly flashes back to the Ranger Union and shows Ben getting the mission from Professor Hastings and walking out of the building to see a Staraptor. He captures the Staraptor and the show returns to the current time.

Ben manages to fend off the Nappers long enough for Latios to get away but Red Eye (レッドアイ) appears and shoots him down. Ben falls into the water and then washes up on shore. After collecting himself, Ben sees Ukulele Pichu (ウクレレピチュー) hiding behind a tree. He decides to capture it as the episode ends.

The story continues with Ben capturing Ukulele Pichu. They head through the Teak Forest and arrive at a cave that is guarded by a Pokémon Pinchers. Pichu quickly shocks the girl allowing them to enter the cave.

Red Eye (レッドアイ) is attempting to take the Raikou Ranger Sign that is inscribed on a stone. Ukulele Pichu attempts to stop them but Red Eye sends his controlled Cranidos at it which breaks its Ukulele in the process. Ben captures the Cranidos to calm it down but not before Red Eye and the Pokémon Pinchers leave with the Raikou Ranger Sign tablet. As they exit the cave, Red Eye and the Nappers are stopped by lightning and a loud roar as the special ends.

This seemed quite accurate to the original version and it was quite surprising that the decided to put this up on Pokemon.com for streaming without any apparent region restrictions (I was able to view it in Canada).

I didn't like how they pronounced Raikou (Rai-cow) and Cranidos (Cranky-dos) and found that kind of annoying. Though they did keep the area typesetting which I thought was a must for this episode the way it quickly changes from region to area and island. It certainly helped keep the viewers on track.

It's somewhat like the game. I wonder why they didn't put the ranger girl in this episode like the game =/ but it is close enough! ~

Why does it ALWAYS has to be a boy to be the hero hmm? why not a girl for once?

also instead of continuing with some trainer or Ash and stuffs, why don't they put ranger series? That would be cool for once.

I am getting tired of Team Rocket blasting off or what ever. Ash leveling up losing all the time blah blah blah.

My wish is that they stop this trainers stuffs and on with ranger. =D

That's how those names have always been pronounced though.
The short is pretty cool! I'm not sure why Summer's involvement has been cut out, but I guess because you don't hear about her until much past the point this short ends.
The ending seemed a bit abrupt though, the narrator didn't even hint that it was over and that you should continue the story in-game.
